The PTMC will be a calm presence, providing:

> Guidance to those seeking to cultivate mindfulness and wellness in life.

> A home for the many local meditation groups without a permanent space.

> A destination for out-of-town groups seeking the right setting for mindful experiences.

> A spiritual location and destination.

The Center, established in recognition of the value of meditation to all in a world that appears fast paced, complex, and increasingly difficult to navigate, will be housed in a community meditation hall designed by the world-renown artist, James Turrell. In describing his work Mr. Turrell has said: “My work has no object, no image and no focus. With no object, no image and no focus, what are you looking at? You are looking at you looking. What is important to me is to create an experience of wordless thought.”

Ancient civilizations as well as modern neuroscientists have shown meditation to offer another way to experience our own humanity. From its peaceful location in beautiful Port Townsend the Center will provide instruction and offer an inviting setting for a wide variety of mindfulness programs serving individuals and organizations including community groups, students at local schools, and those looking for a peaceful contemplative setting.

The Center is a Washington State nonprofit corporation and is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code 501(c) (3). Donors can deduct contributions they make under IRC section 170.
